Start with the physical state. Lyophilised powder is stable at ambient for the duration of any normal lane; anything in solution is a different conversation entirely.

Summer lanes are worse than winter lanes for the pack and no different for the solid, which is why the seasonal anxiety is largely misdirected.

Answering this needs the origin and destination pair, because lane behaviour varies far more than carrier marketing suggests.

Anything shipped in solution is a genuinely different risk, because hydrolysis and deamidation proceed in the aqueous phase and are strongly temperature-dependent.

The underlying point is that asking a supplier to hold a shipment during a heatwave is a reasonable request that the better ones honour, and it costs a week rather than an order.

Phase-change pack hold times are a function of mass, latent heat and box insulation, and published figures for small parcels are on the order of a day or two.

A cold pack that arrived hard tells you about the last day of transit and nothing about the first eleven.

Judge the lane by tracking continuity rather than by days elapsed.

Arrhenius kinetics predict degradation rates rising with temperature, and the rates for a dry lyophilised peptide at ambient are low enough to make short-term excursions immaterial.

Lyophilised solids tolerate ambient transit. That is the whole answer for most orders.

That is the argument for shipping lyophilised. A dry powder with low residual moisture is chemically stable at ambient for months; the degradation pathways that matter need water.

The published aggregate datasets from Janoshik, Medutest and PeptideMeter are the closest thing to a systematic evidence base in this space, and the striking pattern across all three is that identity is almost always confirmed, purity is usually acceptable, and content is where the variance lives.

Buy a data logger if the temperature history genuinely matters to you.
